Roland J. Dumont
Woonsocket - Roland J. “Ron” Dumont, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Suzanne J. (Lambert) Dumont.
Born in Cranston, he was the biological son of the late Theresa Dumont and raised by his foster parents the late Sabatino and Louise (Taylor) Ludovici.
He was a six year Veteran of the United States Army National Guard.
Ron worked as a Machinist for Okonite for ten years and Triangle Wire and Cable for twenty nine years prior to retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren, he also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, Mexican train dominoes, watching and feeding the birds, and giving treats to the neighborhood dogs. He was known as the ice cream man for dogs. Ron’s best friend was his brother in-law John Bileau Sr. He was a people person, loved one and all and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
Besides his wife Sue, he is survived by his three sons, Ronald Dumont and his wife Amber of Whitinsville, MA., Matthew Dumont and his wife Millicent of N. Attleboro, MA., and Mark Dumont of Woonsocket. Three grandchildren, Kyra Ringler of Whitinsville, MA., Parker Dumont and Lucy Dumont both of N. Attleboro.
He was also the brother of the late Joseph Ludovici and the brother of the late Louise Phelan.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 9:30 AM from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket RI 02895 with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM in St Anthony Parish 128 Greene St Woonsocket, followed by Military Honors. Relatives and friends are invited; visitation will be from 8:30-9:30 AM at the funeral home.
