Edward Francis Nadeau 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband of Gloria (DiCesare) of Woonsocket, RI. Ed & Gloria celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on January 26th.
Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Edward A. and Clara Nadeau. He was the youngest of ten children.
In 1952, Ed joined the Navy serving as a Yeoman 2nd Class aboard the U.S.S. Tarawa where he travelled the world. After being honorably discharged in 1957, he attended drafting school. He enjoyed an impressive 29-year career at Tupperware – retiring as Chief Draftsman on May 3rd, 1992.
For several years, he was a member of the St. Anthony choir. He played in the Senior Bocce League, and even helped his team win the championship one year. In addition, Ed was an avid golfer enjoying his time on the Tupperware Men’s Golf League. He also played mixed-doubles tennis with Gloria for many years.
Ed was affectionately known as Grampy to his many grandchildren and great grandson. He loved being a grandfather, always supporting the kids by attending all their sporting events and spending as much quality time as he could with them. In addition, Ed was known as an avid pet lover. Most notably, he enjoyed a special bond with his daughter Karen’s dachshund named Oscar.
Ed is survived by his three children: Keith, Karen, and Kevin along with son-in-law Gary and daughter-in-law Judy. He adored his grandchildren: Damian, Kory, and Kyle, stepchildren, grand stepchildren, and newest edition great grandson James as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
His funeral will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024 at 9 AM from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895 with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church Greene St. Woonsocket, RI.
Relatives and friends are invited; calling hour is from 8-9 AM prior to the funeral.
A private committal service will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org).
