Woonsocket — Tommie C. Dandy, 76, of Snow St. died Friday, June 16, 2018 in Landmark Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born in Newberry, SC son of the late John Dandy Sr. and Jessie (Merrion) Dandy.

Tommie worked as a van driver for Valley Transportation Corp. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church, the Masons, Tyra Club, and the Carpenters Union Local 475. Framingham, MA. He was also part of The Inspirations and he drove the St James Baptist Sunday School van for 10 years.

Tommie is survived by his two brothers; Dwight Dandy of Woonsocket and Leroy Dandy of Las Vegas, NV. Three sisters; Ethel Dowdy, Josephine Byrd, and Emma D. Dandy all of Woonsocket, RI. He also leaves behind Jarred Downing of Woonsocket.

He was also the brother of the late, Eugene Dandy, Alphonso Chattman, JV Chattman, Willie V. Dandy, John Dandy, Grady Dandy, Bessie Scott, Mary Watson, Bessie Gray and Jessie Dandy.

Calling hours are on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4-7 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket, RI 02895. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11 AM in St. James Baptist Church 340 South Main St, Woonsocket, RI. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd, North Smithfield, RI. Relatives and friends are invited.
