Woonsocket — Lawrence J. “Larry“ Rankl, 69 of Walnut Hill Rd. died peacefully, Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Providence with his family by his side. He was the husband of Claire M. (Violette) Rankl.
Born in Providence, son of the late Lawrence and Florence (Fisher) Rankl.
Larry worked as an Operational manager at Landmark Medical Center for several years and also Supervisor of Environmental Services at Women’s & Infants Hospital for 13 years and Stanley Woolen prior to retiring.
He enjoyed watching football and baseball especially the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He also loved car racing the Indianapolis 500. Larry loved to vacation in New Hampshire, his favorite place Newfound Lake, where he has been going since the age of 7.
Besides his wife Claire he is survived by two son, Jeffrey Rankl and Kenneth Rankl, both of Woonsocket. One granddaughter Alyssa Rankl.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 AM from the S.DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. With a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Church 1200 Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery Bellingham, MA. Relatives and friends are invited; visitation is from 9-10 AM prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital or St. Jude’s Hospital in his name.
