Woonsocket — Dorothy M. (Farquhar) Monteiro, 91, formerly of Rebekah St. died Sunday, December 2, 2018 in the Ballou Home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Milton T. Monteiro. Milton and Dorothy were married for 64 years.

Born in Bristol, VT. daughter of the late James and Doris (Chandler) Farquhar.

Mrs. Monteiro worked as a spinner and winder for Mazzarel, Honora Mills, and also Miller Electric for several years prior to retiring.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, watching movies, and going out to eat. Dorothy also loved to spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert Monteiro of Woonsocket, Edward Monteiro and his wife Margaret of Woonsocket and David Monteiro of Woonsocket.Two daughters, Barbara Simas and her husband Manuel of North Scituate and Deborah Boisclair and her husband Alan of Woonsocket. Two sisters, Elizabeth Carter of Mapleville, RI, and Marguerite Drolet of Pascoag. 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was also the mother of the late Elaine Tokarski, Eileen Carpentier, and Milton M. Monteiro. And sister to the late Edward and Gerald Farquhar.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 9 AM from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Charles Church, N. Main St. Woonsocket, RI. Burial will be in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA.

Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are of Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 4-7 PM.
