She was the wife of the late Fred A. Sencabaugh. Born in Minneapolis, MN, adopted and only child of the late Carl E. and Marie H. Nelson. She attended Macalester College prior to marriage.

Carol was employed by Southwood Community Hospital, formally Pondville Hospital, Walpole, MA, for 30 years, retiring in 1998. After retirement, she worked for RB Supply, Woonsocket, RI, until 2013.

She was a member of 1st Assembly of God, Woonsocket; serving as secretary/treasurer for many years. Carol loved God and all the people the Lord brought into her life. Carol enjoyed time with her family, whether traveling near or far, dining out, or playing games with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and making gifts for others.

Carol helped raise 12 children and is survived by only two sons: Mark Lane of Mansfield, MA, & Jeffrey Lane of North Smithfield, RI, and three daughters; Marie Sencabaugh of Sarasota, FL, Carole Briere of Bennington, VT, & Susan Mahoney of Lincoln, RI. She also leaves 27 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and many, many other loved ones who called her “Gramma”. Carol was the mother of the late James & Steven Lane, and William, Joseph, Fred, Agnes, & Diane Sencabaugh.
